I had exciting morning getting car off sheet ice. I ventured out yesterday to get laptop from work, miraculously made it back in one piece but car wouldn't go up the final hill to get to our road on account of it being a ski slope (the hill that is, not the car). So I left car "parked" at humorous angle half on pavement, half on road. This morning the effing council still hadn't gritted the road, grrr. Fortunately by wiggling the wheel around a lot and sliding along a chain link fence I was able to get the car back onto "safe" ground. To relieved look from husband and oblivious grin from little Nugget in the back. Haven't dared to see if fence did any damage.
It's chaos out there on the roads - avoid driving if you possibly can as it's still pretty dangerous. One of the guys from work had his car front end munched by a sliding lorry. Not major damage, but not fun either.
